About Us
The Coach & Horses is proud to call itself a traditional Norfolk village pub.
However, we’ve evolved with the times and adapted to the changing needs of our customers to be so much more than a pub, but also a charming restaurant that sources local ingredients and produce, alongside our 8 beautiful en-suite boutique hotel rooms that provide visitors with a comfortable and accommodating stay.
What we are also is a family-run business, a collection of Dersingham people and the best hospitality professionals. With the goal of retaining a local pub for our village, it’s the people behind the Coach & Horses that make this space so special – a place to enjoy a traditional pub meal with family and friends, and the perfect resting ground to explore the stunning Norfolk landscape.
Our Vision
Our restaurant is the true heart of our establishment and the focus of our vision, which is to provide our local community and visitors with the best, locally sourced, highest quality pub food possible.
We achieve this in several ways. First and foremost, by offering a versatile, seasonal menu that has been created to fill our diners with warmth and offer unrivalled freshness, flavour and quality. By working with local suppliers, our menu, beautifully designed by Chef Jozef, is guaranteed to satisfy all who dine with us.
Just as importantly, it is crucial to us that we look after our locals by maintaining a true pub vibe to the Coach & Horses, remaining a friendly and welcoming local pub, always filled with laughter and a great community spirit. For visitors exploring Norfolk, we strive to provide a fantastic experience that enriches your adventures in this captivating local area.

History
Serving the residents of Dersingham since 1846, The Coach & Horses has a very long history within the village.
The pub originally, as you might expect of the time, included stables for visitor’s horses. In a document from the 1930’s, for the information of residents and visitors, the Coach & Horses is quoted as follows: “Visitors will find every comfort and convenience” adding “Charges are always reasonable and an enjoyable stay is assured. Lunches, Dinners and Teas are always procurable.” Almost a century later, although so much has changed, The Coach & Horses remains a beautiful setting for visitors to dine and stay. Although the stables have long since gone, replaced with our ample car and cycle park!
Back in 1862, Queen Victoria purchased the Sandringham Estate for the use of her son, Prince Albert Edward, The Prince of Wales, known as Bertie. The presence of Royalty greatly raised the profile of Dersingham and the surrounding district so that it soon became a desirable place to visit, as indeed it remains.
The pub has always retained a significant role within the Dersingham community. Although many other pubs have sadly long since gone – including The Dun Cow, The Gamekeeper’s Lodge, The Cock Inn, the Albert Victor and The White Horse – the Coach & Horses thankfully remains a charming and welcoming place for locals and visitors to meet.
Local brothers, Nick and Tom Suiter, purchased the pub in 2022, having always dreamt of running a pub. Using their experience in the construction industry, the brothers have tastefully and sympathetically renovated the pub, adding a significant extension to the property, ensuring the future of the Coach for decades to come.
